Michael B. Cooke, Attorney at Law Can Fight Your DUI or Traffic Ticket

Speak with our DUI attorney in Toms River, NJ

In New Jersey, driving while intoxicated by drugs or alcohol is a traffic violation, not a criminal offense. Unfortunately, the penalties are still serious, and there is no "plea bargaining" for driving whilel intoxicated offenses under New Jersey law. A conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can EASILY result in state monitoring, license suspension, jail time, or forced drug or alcohol treatent.

Although it might be tempting to try to resolve your legal matter on your own, it's a smart idea to retain an experienced DUI attorney in Toms River, NJ.You need a skilled lawyer who understands the law and the technology the State will use to try to convict you. Michael B. Cooke, Law has tha experience and has litigated these cases in the Municipal, Superior, and Appellate Courts of New Jersey.

Mike can help you with cases involving:

  • First-time DUI/DWI
  • Second or Third offenses
  • "Trooper Dennis" cases
  • Reopening old cases
  • Law Division appeals
  • Appellate Division appeals

"Trooper Dennis" cases

Recently, it was revealed that a New Jersey State Troop, Trooper Sergeant Dennis, had falsified affidavits certifying that he had performed certain mandatory tests on breath machines. His failure to conduct those tests compromised 20,000 DUI convictions. You may be eligible to have a DUI conviction overturned or to be sentenced to a lesser sentence for a subsequent DUI conviction. I am currently trying multiple DUI matters and appealing at least on to the Appellate Division based on the Trooper Dennis issue.
